Fictional Recipes

I spend enough time escaping reality by reading fiction.

Why not try eating fiction it too?

Have you ever seen something in movies & TV and thought: “Fuck yeah. That looks tasty.” Me too!
Here’s a list of tasty food from pop-culture.

Fictional Food - Recipes

Lembas Bread -

Said to be more strengthening than any food made by men. One bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man!

This elvish bread from Lord of The Rings may not live up to the hype. But it is definitely delicious.

Unfortunately Tolkein didn’t provide us with an exact recipe. But I think Kaitlyn, from Tea With Tolkein, has the best of those I read.

Here’s her Lembas Bread Recipe.

Sweet Rolls -

Let me guess, someone stole your sweet roll?

Oft quoted, and oft eaten.

No wonder these desserts are everywhere in the tundra of Skyrim, they are fucking tasty!

Butter Beer -

I was always curious what butter beer was. I mean, I love butter and I love beer? Although that is an odd combination, but I’m not a wizard so what do I know. (Still hoping my letter from Hogwarts arrives.)

Turns out it’s a delicous, butterscotchy, caramely sweet treat.

This recipe was magical… pun intended.

Lemon Cakes -

Sansa is terrible. The only person worse than her was her lunatic husband. But we do share a common interest, a love of lemon cakes.

Mead With Juniper Berries -

I can’t count how many times I’ve woken up on the back of a wagon with my hands bound and the soft, deep, nordic tones of Ralof: “Hey you, you’re finally awake.”

For those wondering, this is, of course, the opening to the world wide phenomenon that is Skyrim. It is not an insight to a strange, secretive, double life I lead.

Ralof goes on to talk about a girl from Helgen that he was sweet on. She made mead with juniper berries. Ralof’s wistful story telling and comforting presence made that mead sound so delicious and inviting.

Fictional Recipes

Hagrid’s Happee Birthdae Cake -

Despite Hagrid’s clumsy spelling and accidental squishing, his birthday cake for Harry looked surprisingly tasty.

Dudley thought so too, the fat prick!

You can pretty much make any cake you want and then ice it with the right colours. So here’s a recipe for a very, very tasty cake. Then just frost that bad boy with some store bought packs and start shooting people with your wand-brella.
